Puss 'N' Bats
Written and Directed by Rupert Bean
Tuesday 6th - Saturday 10 December 2005
Venue: Sheperd's Bush Pavillion
This year the show moved to a disused 1950s cinema in Shepherds Bush at The Pavilion - which was perfect for the Dracula themed show. As you’d come to expect from Backend we packed plenty of cheesy tracks, painful puns and terrible gags in.
Simple Simon and his Pussycat attempt to grab the attentions of the delightful Princess Kitty of Romania. But who is lurking in the shadows to ruin everything? It's the evil Count Suckula and his team of the Undead (and just plain stupid), who plan to take over the whole world with bloodsuckers! Also joining in the fun are the Vampettes, Dr Eureka the mad scientist, Professor Van Can't-Sing the vampire hunter.
Celebrity guest stars this year included former England Cricketers Mark Butcher and Graeme Swann, Sally Farmiloe of Lord Archer Fame, Steve Norris, Dai Lewellyn "The Seducer of the Valleys" and James Max from The Apprentice.
‘This show is for grown-ups - a mix of the Rocky Horror Picture Show (schlock musical) The Fast Show and the Carry On films.’
