Mother Goose: up the Amazon
Written and Directed by Rupert Bean
Wednesday 6th - Saturday 9th December 2006
Venue: Hammersmith Town Hall, King Street, London W6 9JU
2006 saw London's biggest and best charity panto take on the jungle theme with 'Mother Goose: Up the Amazon.’ Our venue changed again to Hammersmith Town Hall.
The Goose children (Bruce and Luce) attempt to save their Mother's farm from the evil and wicked Lord Peruvio and Lady Ecuadora by venturing into the murky depths of the Amazon rainforest; only there will they find the fabled Golden Goose...who lays golden eggs (so says the legend of the lost Pinkan Empire!). Along the way they encounter Marzipan the Apeman (best swinger in town), Niagara and her Amazon women, and Dr Livingroom, the botanical explorer. Throw in a French tiger and a war veteran snake for good measure, and our usual dizzy mix of awful gags, dazzling dance routines and rocking music from our live band, not to mention the Bitpartpeople (without whom no Back End panto would be without) and you've got the recipe for a great evening!
‘Another rollicking good show from Backend; with fantastic costumes and sensational dance routines!’
