Exploring New Horizons (in Mental Health and Brian Disease
Research)
REID (Reseach into Eating disorders)
Research into Eating Disorders ("RIED") - RIED is a fund raising
vehicle for The Eating Disorders Research Unit at The Psychiatry Research
Trust. Anorexia Nervosa is one of the most common chronic conditions in
adolescence having the highest mortality of any psychiatric illness. It
is estimated that between 10 - 15% of those suffering will die annually.
To save the growing number of lives that are being lost, and to understand
better how to manage Anorexia Nervosa and other disorders of eating, it
is vital that we have the funds for the current, extremely complex research
programme to continue. For this we need a massive £2,000,000.

Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation ("JDRF") was started in
Philadelphia in 1970 by a group of parents of children with diabetes.
The single aim was to fund the best medical research into the cause, prevention,
treatment and cure of type 1 diabetes and its complications. The organisation
has grown but it is still driven by the priorities of people with juvenile
diabetes. JDRF is the ONLY diabetes organisation totally focused on research.
JDRF has a unique business-world design to its research programme to ensure
that time and money is spent on the highest quality research targeted
to deliver a cure fast. JDRF is the leading, non-profit, non government
funder of juvenile diabetes research worldwide.
